Job Description

Position: Corporate Controller
Location: Anchorage, Alaska
Pay Range: DOE

The Corporate Controller is responsible for all financial affairs, fiscal management, corporate compliance and risk management of the organization and its subsidiaries. The CC provides leadership and coordination in the administrative, business planning, accounting and budgeting efforts of the company.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Plan, develop, organize, implement, direct and evaluate organizational fiscal function and performance
Ensure compliance with local, state and federal budgetary reporting requirements
Oversee approval and processing of revenue, expenditure and position control documents, department budgets, mass salary updates, ledger, accounting maintenance and date entry
Coordinate preparation of financial statements, financial reports, special analyses and information reports
Develop and implement finance, accounting, billing and auditing procedures
Establish and maintain appropriate internal control safeguards
Ensure records systems are maintained in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards
Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision-making issues affecting the organization
Develop and direct implementation of strategic business and operational plans, projects, programs and systems
Evaluate and advise on the impact of long-range planning, introduction of new programs/strategies and regulatory action
Analyze cash flows, cost controls and expenses
Analyze financial statements
Establish and implement short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies and operating procedures
Prepare and present financial and related reports to CEO, management and Board of Directors
Supervise Controller and Accounting Clerk
Attend meetings and training sessions as necessary
All other duties as assigned

Job Specifications:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an emphasis on presenting financial material
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to handle stress under pressure
Ability to work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team
Demonstrated ability to work independently, with minimal supervision
Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
Strong mathematical skills
Strong knowledge of computer programs including: Microsoft Excel, Work and Outlook; prefer knowledge of accounting programs including QuickBooks and MYOB
Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
Demonstrated ability to delegate assignments and set expectations and monitor delegated activities
Demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate others
Demonstrated ability to make timely decisions and exhibit sound and accurate judgment

Essential Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field.
A minimum of seven years progressively responsible and related experience
Equivalent combination of related experience and/or training may be substituted for degree requirement
