Job Description

Position: Corporate Tax Manager
Location: Anchorage
Pay Range: DOE

This position is primarily responsible for monitoring corporate tax compliance for the organization and subsidiaries.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Preparation of annual federal and state income tax returns for the consolidated corporate group as well as applicable pass-through affiliates.
Preparation of monthly and annual income tax provisions and reconciliation of budget to actual tax expense
Preparation of quarterly income tax estimates
Oversight of preparation of property tax filings, state franchise tax filings and other non-income tax filings.
Research of various tax compliance requirements when entering new state taxing jurisdictions and ensuring that companies are properly registered with taxing authorities where applicable.
Ensure compliance with filing deadlines through the use of due date tracking systems.
Maintain in-depth current knowledge of federal and state tax regulations through the use of tax research products.
Assist the CFO in strategic corporate tax planning.
Serve as a tax resource to finance department of corporate parent and applicable subsidiaries.
Maintain records for tax methods of depreciation.
Special projects and other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
8-10 years of accounting experience with 4-5 years of public accounting experience
Strong understanding of federal and multi-state taxation laws and regulations
Have experience in partnering with an executive team and have a high level of written and oral communication skills. Preference will be given to candidates with an MBA in Finance and the Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designations.
Solid understanding of accounting as well as strong research and analytical skills
Demonstrated experience with various accounting software, Microsoft Dynamics (Solomon) strongly preferred, and expertise in MS Office
The incumbent must possess both written and verbal communication skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Self-motivated with the ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Ability to work independently and make independent decisions.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Proven ability to exercise sound judgment, tact, discretion, and initiative
Strong analytical, problem solving and written and verbal communication skills
Successful experience establishing and maintaining effective working relationships in a team environment
