Job Description

PURPOSE
This position is responsible for the Finance and Accounting Services functions of the Association. Finance and Accounting management includes directing and controlling the Association’s financial functions and practices to ensure compliance with all accounting principles, Association policies, state, and federal guidelines. This position provides leadership and manages all accounting personnel and provides information and analytical support to management and the Board of Directors. Position also serves as a staff level resource to the executive management team and the Board of Directors for special projects. Responsibilities include finance, banking, long-term debt management, supporting the Association's risk management, financial planning activities, tariff and other regulatory matters, and developing and maintaining external relationships representing the Association's financial and other interests in financial and regulatory areas.

ESSENTIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS
•Qualified candidates are required to have a four (4) year college degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field and ten (10) or more years progressive experience in accounting and finance, including management and development of personnel, internal controls, budgets, financial forecasts and plans, to include at least five (5) years of supervisory experience.
•Preference will be given to candidates with electrical utility accounting experience using the FERC/REA/RUS Uniform System of Accounts, and those who have obtained their Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA), and or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation, and those holding advanced degrees in relevant subject matter.
•Qualified candidates must have a valid Alaska driver’s license (or ability to obtain as required under State of Alaska regulations) and a driving record, which is acceptable and insurable by the Association and the Association’s insurance carrier at standard group rates.
