Job Description

What you will be doing:

Under the direction of the Medicaid Program Specialist IV, this position will act as a lead of the Accounting team within the Accounting & Recovery Unit. This position is responsible for: assisting providers, leg auditors, other sections within the division, other State Agency and Medicaid contractors by answering moderate to complex questions requiring clarification and/or interpretation of State and federal laws, policies and procedures; researches and resolves moderate to complex provider claims appeals; and maintenance and problem solving of the fiscal agent contract as it relates to payments and financial reporting for providers. To establish the Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) accounting structure and to ensure the accuracy of expenditures and financial reports of the Alaska Medicaid program. Maintain and coordinate the fiscal aspects between the Medicaid program and various federal and state agencies, and fiscal agent`s offices to ensure the efficient operation of the Medicaid payment system.
