Spring Meeting of Council San Diego, CA

Don Rulien, Elected Member of Council

The spring meeting of council was held in San Diego, CA and the members attending were Julie Olson, Linda Plimpton and myself.

The major issues discussed at the spring meeting of council were resolutions to change the bylaws for the new International Associate and what constitutes a new member.  The change to the bylaws regarding what constitutes a new member of the AICPA was very contentious at the Regional meetings held in Los Angeles in March.  At those meetings the majority of the council members were against what the AICPA was proposing for the amendment.  At the May meeting of council the AICPA must have gotten the message and watered down the proposed changes, which were passed unanimously.
