Job Description

Coastal Villages Region Fund is actively seeking applications for an Accounts Payable Lead for the Finance Department in Anchorage, Alaska. The primary job responsibilities include, but not limited to, performing accounting and clerical tasks related to the efficient maintenance and processing of accounts payable transactions for a fast-paced company with a high volume of monthly transactions.? This position works closely with the Purchasing Department.


Reviews invoice and check request prepared by Accounts Payable Specialists for accurate GL distribution and proper approvals based on the nature of the purchase.

Reviews payment entries prior to issuance for corresponding documentation and approvals, along with monitoring the efficient and timely payment of invoices.

Submits wire transfer and foreign currency payments through company banking portal.

Assists in month end accounting close including reviewing outstanding invoices, reconciling credit card statements, and submitting invoice accruals as needed.

Work with the purchasing department to promptly receive purchase orders, process their invoices and troubleshoot any problems.

Assist in obtaining information for reporting to outside departments.

Assist in the preparation and review of 1099’s annually.

Communicate with outside departments and vendors to resolve invoice discrepancies.

Other duties as assigned.

Starting wage: DOE – Status: Non-Exempt, Full-Time

High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree in Accounting or related field, or Accounting certification preferred. Minimum of 5 years accounting experience; or equivalent combination of education and accounting/accounts payable experience is required. Ability to type 60 wpm with 10-key by touch. Ability to process and review high volumes of data with accuracy and attention to detail, along with handling multiple tasks simultaneously. Must possess the ability to represent the company in a professional manner. Must be able to effectively communicate with employees and vendors via written and verbal communication methods.?Must possess the ability to handle confidential information in a discreet, professional manner. Experience with MS Office Suite preferred. Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains experience preferred.


In order to successfully perform the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to effectively remain in a stationary position for long periods of time, operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, communicate with others in person and over the phone, and move about inside the office.? This position requires the ability to sit, effectively use hands and fingers, talk and listen, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, and crouch.? Occasionally this position may be required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.? Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.? The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is also a requirement.


This position is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and florescent lighting. It requires the regular use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
