The University of Alaska Foundation seeks nominations and applications for the role of Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The CFO is a vital member of the UA Foundation’s executive team overseeing all financial functions including budgeting, accounting, treasury and investments, tax and audit, business affairs, and all related matters.

We seek a seasoned, proactive, creative, impact-oriented, and collaborative financial leader who is willing to pursue new knowledge, skills, and expertise. Technical skills and knowledge are essential, but the CFO must also be service-oriented and highly skilled at communication and relationship building in a complex environment. The successful candidate will bring an innovative and strategic perspective on how to grow and invest philanthropic funds for a large, complex university foundation and a vision for continued growth and stewardship of the UA Foundation’s assets.

The UA Foundation, headquartered in Anchorage with a Fairbanks office, is an independent 501(c)(3) organization managing the private philanthropic support for the University of Alaska system and its three separately accredited and highly acclaimed institutions of higher education and training which serve the entire state of Alaska and beyond. Total assets under management by the UA Foundation are more than $500 million with approximately $25 million in average annual disbursements of student scholarships and private support for the UA system’s three universities and UA System Office. The UA Foundation’s annual operating budget is around $5 million.
