JOB SUMMARY: The Treasury and Reporting Analyst, under minimal supervision, performs a variety of analytical, technical, and statistical work including preparation of cash forecasts, daily cash reports, and processing of ACH/wire payments. This position will also provide support and cross-train with General Accounting personnel.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Analyze, monitor and manage ENSTARs daily cash position. Prepare daily cash and loan report.
• Prepare daily cash forecast schedules using information gathered from internal sources and historical transaction reports.
• Assist in preparing ENSTAR’s cash flow budgets.
• Prepare or assist in the preparation of ACH and wire payments.
• Coordinate with Accounts Payable on payment of invoices and timing of cash flows.
• Analyze liquidity requirements and coordinate borrowings and repayments of funds to/from credit facility.
• Manage short-term investments/borrowing instruments and cash pools.
• Manage compliance with Debt Covenants.
• Work with business leads to provide financial surety documents (comfort letter, guarantee, surety bond, letter of credit, or other.)
• Measure/Report Treasury Performance and Policy Compliance.
• Establish/maintain optimal banking architecture.
• Work closely with Finance group at TSU to ensure clear communications and accurate reporting.
• Cross-train with General Accounting personnel on accounting functions.
• Assist in the preparation of and analyze financial statement reports.
• Assist in the preparation of the tax provision workbook and monthly journal entries.
• Gather tax return data for outsourced federal and state income tax filings.
• Perform special analytical projects as assigned.
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge in order to uphold responsibilities as subject matter expert.
• Assist in preparing gas related accounting reports, workbooks and journal entries.
• Submit regular reports to the Manager Gas Accounting.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• Five years of related work experience. Utility experience preferred.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) preferred.
• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications with emphasis on high-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to pass drug and background screening.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
• Proven organizational and analytical skills, including the ability to evaluate data, compile statistics and prepare reports, graphs, tables and charts.
• Knowledge of accounting practices and procedures; ability to perform related tasks.
• A broad understanding of accounting policies, procedures, systems, and the flow of transactions in the Accounting area.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, deal effectively with a variety of interpersonal relationships and situations.
• Good working knowledge of various personal computer business software applications presently used by ENSTAR and ability to learn new applications.
• Working knowledge of JD Edwards is preferred.
• Ability to work well with minimal supervision.
