Job Description

Overview:

Peak Trust Company is an independent trust company dedicated to providing exceptional fiduciary services with a client-centered approach. Our team values integrity, collaboration, and professional growth, and we’re looking for a dependable, detail-oriented Trust Tax Coordinator to join us. In this role, you will be the point person for managing tax-related activities across our client accounts. You’ll work closely with administration, operations, external CPAs, and attorneys to ensure accounts remain compliant with state and federal tax laws. This is a great opportunity for someone who is organized, analytical, and eager to grow in the specialized world of trust and fiducia taxation.

Key Responsibilities:

-Sign and file fiduciary tax returns (state and federal) in a timely and accurate manner.

-Monitor and ensure tax payments and quarterly estimated taxes are paid timely.

T-rack the status of fiduciary tax returns prepared externally by CPAs or attorneys.

-Review and respond to IRS and state notices, coordinating with internal teams and external advisors.

-Conduct tax research to address issues impacting fiduciary accounts.

-Collaborate with administration, operations, tax authorities, CPAs, and attorneys to support fiduciary compliance.

-Maintain organized, up-to-date tax records, ensuring accessibility for auditors and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications:

-Prior tax preparation or fiduciary/estate tax experience is a plus.

-Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.

-Excellent communication skills and comfort working across teams.

-Proficiency in maintaining organized records and handling confidential information with discretion.
