Bring your accounting expertise to one of Alaska’s most respected builders!
A leading Alaska-based builder is seeking a Controller to support its growing construction and real estate portfolio.
For over 50 years, the company has delivered some of Alaska’s most significant projects—built on integrity, teamwork, and craftsmanship. This role strengthens the finance team to ensure sustainability, accuracy, and balance as operations continue to expand.
About the job: This senior-level accounting role supports a well-established finance team, working directly with the Controller and CFO to manage daily accounting and reporting for multiple construction and real estate entities. It’s a hands-on, detail-focused position ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and takes pride in precision.
Your day-to-day: In this role, you’ll manage the general ledger, monthly close, reconciliations, and intercompany transactions across multiple construction and real estate entities. You’ll oversee job cost accounting and WIP schedules, handle bookkeeping and cash management for real estate LLCs, and support forecasting, budgeting, and audits. You’ll collaborate with project managers and leadership to provide timely, accurate financial data, refine internal controls, and assist the Controller and CFO on special initiatives.
We’re looking for:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
CPA preferred (or actively pursuing), not required, but strongly valued
5–10 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within construction or real estate
Experience with Sage would be considered an asset
Strong understanding of job cost accounting, WIP, and multi-entity consolidations
Experience with Sage or similar ERP software
Advanced Excel and solid proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite
Analytical thinker with excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Clear communicator with strong interpersonal skills and team orientation
