Accounting Supervisor - Program Deliveries

Coastal Villages Region Fund is currently recruiting for an Accounting Supervisor for Program Deliveries. This position is located at our corporate offices in Anchorage, Alaska.

The primary job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, supervision over all aspects of the In-Region Program accounting group, which encompasses Community Service Centers, Mechanic Welder services, and loan and subsidy programs. This position is responsible for the accurate and timely reporting of financial information related to corporate In-Region Programs and all associated departments, including Operations, Management, and Special Projects. Supervision of an in-region team of 1-2 individuals. This position will also assist in preparing for and completing the financial statement audit.


Manage staff, including hiring, training, and assigning work to ensure tasks and responsibilities of the in-region department are appropriately covered
Administer the accounting and related customer service for the People Propel loan program including reviewing monthly statements and late fees
Review and post miscellaneous sales and cash entries when the Community Benefits Associate is not able
Report Employee Balances to Payroll and track Employee travel advance entries
Review and aid in preparing monthly collection letters
Monthly review of outstanding receivables and work to resolve any past due occurrences
Review monthly reconciliations and schedules for accuracy and completeness
Review and post monthly rent and keep updated schedule of lease agreements and escalations
Maintain and update archive records
Provide accounting support for various community programs including the preparation of monthly reporting
Assist in preparing for and completing the annual financial statement audit
Assist in creating and improving processes and developing internal controls for a rapidly growing company
Other duties as assigned

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field required. A minimum of 5 years’ experience in accounting, with some supervisory experience, is required. Significant working knowledge and proficiency of MS Office Suite (specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook) is required, while experience with Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains and/or PaperSave is strongly preferred. This position has frequent, direct contact with Yup’ik speaking customers so the ability to speak Yup’ik is highly preferred. This position requires the ability to represent the company in a professional manner and demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills. Highly developed customer service skills are required to be successful in this role. The ability to learn, teach others, remain flexible, and work well in a collaborative team environment is a must, as well as a high regard for accuracy, attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines.

This position reports directly to the Accounting Manager. Starting Wage: DOE - Status: Exempt - Full-Time

In order to successfully perform the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to effectively remain in a stationary position for long periods of time, operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, communicate with others in person and over the phone, and move about inside an office. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to lift and move up to 25 lbs. He/she will be required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, and crouch. Specific vision abilities required by the position include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. This position also requires the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.


This position is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and florescent lighting. It requires the regular use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
