Diehl CPA LLC is a small business in Palmer, AK. We are professional, agile, and data-driven, and our goal is to provide accounting services to not only be used to meet tax filing requirements but a service to grow and create value for our client's company. We fully understand the accounting, bookkeeping, cash flow management, and business tax nuances that come with growing their business. We're searching for an exceptional Tax Manager to work with our team! The Tax Manager is responsible for overseeing relationships in regard to tax matters, as well as coordinating the delivery of other services. The Tax Manager will oversee staff and is responsible for managing their daily activities and career development. Applicants should be well-versed in income tax compliance, all individual and business tax returns, QuickBooks, and tax planning, with a focus on small to medium-sized businesses. Must be comfortable preparing, reviewing, and correcting client tax information, capable of independent income tax research, and be an effective communicator.

A successful candidate would be a CPA with a minimum of 5 years of tax experience. We strive to offer quality client service within a 32-hour work week during the summer and 50+ hour work weeks during tax season.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Client service focus
Ability to work in a team environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Qualified to be licensed as a Certified Public Accountant
Excellent accounting and analytical skills
Ability to multi-task; prioritize and work independently
Special projects as requested.
Prepare and/or review tax returns (1120, 1120S, 1065, 1040)
Develop tax planning strategies for clients.
Work on IRS and state tax authorities’ correspondence.
Manage own workload by monitoring project/return deadlines, with sufficiently frequent contact with involved Team members in assessing project/return status, budget, and problems encountered.

Participate in communications with clients on tax return information, due dates, deadlines, and other compliance matters and keep involved Team members informed.

Qualifications for Staff Accountant:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting required. Master's degree in Accounting, preferred.
5+ years' experience in tax accounting, required.
2+ years of supervisory experience, preferred.
Knowledge of accounting operations and all aspects of Accounting in accordance with GAAP.
Ability to prioritize tasks and work on multiple assignments.
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment with professionals of all levels.
Must have exceptional attention to detail
Strong organizational and time management skills and ability to prioritize
Must be a self-starter and driven
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong problem-solving skills and analytical abilities
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office, Adobe, tax preparation software, and Google products
Must be proficient with using online tools and software, such as Box.com, Zoom, Loom, & CRM management software

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to remain in a seated stationary position 50% of the time
The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.

Salary: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year DOE
